Rothenburg Castle Tour Testimonial by a Queen
By Tina B.
Every year, somewhere in Germany, Anja Deichmann organizes a gathering for Queens — usually under the motto of a “Castle Tour.”
It’s the perfect opportunity
• to try on crowns (Anja brings about as many as other people bring shoes),
• to meet other Queens,
• to chat like royalty,
• and of course: to explore a castle or fortress — because one should at least know where one could theoretically reside.
In 2024, I finally “dared” to join for the first time. I already knew some Queens from Facebook — at least as tiny profile pictures wearing crowns.
But suddenly, there we were, face to face, in real life. Some already knew each other from previous tours, but many were just as new as I was. And I was welcomed so warmly, as if I’d had my own reserved seat in the royal court for years.
The 2025 tour — in Rothenburg ob der Tauber — brought many new faces as well.
Rothenburg is a charming little town… just completely without a castle and without a fortress (we bravely endured the irony 🤪).
And because not only the town but also the hotels were more on the “princess-compact” side, this was the first year we had to split into several locations. But everything was so close together that nobody could possibly get lost.
Anja had once again put together a fantastic program — so good that by the end of the very first day, we already felt like an old, close-knit Queens club.
- I received an incredible amount of helpful tips
- I tried on styles I would have never bought, convinced they’d make me look like a third cousin of Snow White’s evil stepmother. (A Queen loves her comfort zone — the crown she knows always seems like the one that suits her best 😜)
- I had so much fun.
- And I met so many wonderful people.
And 2026?
I’ll absolutely be there again! I’m already looking forward to seeing everyone — and welcoming new Queens into our royal circle.
Maybe even you? 😉
