The Faces Beneath the Crowns: Candace’s Rise to Joy
Our series The Faces Beneath the Crowns continues with a story that reminds us why we do what we do — because beauty, at its core, is about healing, courage, and the rediscovery of self. Some of the pictures in this series show the true pictures of our customers, others asked us to use pictures of models. The stories are real.
Candace M. had stayed far too long in an abusive relationship. It took its toll. Piece by piece, her enthusiasm faded — followed by her confidence, her laughter, and even a few of her closest friends. Her family suffered alongside her, watching the vibrant woman they loved grow dimmer by the day.
Then one afternoon, her sister came across our online shop and shared it with her. Candace decided to give crowns a chance. When we spoke on the phone, I explained the importance of a personal consultation and the steps of the Arwendayle Protocol. She agreed immediately, and near the end of our brief exchange she said, laughing softly, “I look forward to our consultation, but be careful — it might take longer than 60 minutes. I’m a piece of work.”
I gently told her that she is not a piece of work — she is a piece of art.
And I promised to take all the time she needed to learn, explore, and find the crown that would make her feel herself again.
We had a beautiful consultation. Candace chose Eowyn from our MCXXIII Collection, a crown as strong and radiant as her spirit. When I later asked if she’d allow me to share her story for our series, she stated, “Please shout it from the rooftops!”
Her family has noticed a profound change — and so has she. She’s receiving compliments, dinner invitations, and celebrates a renewed sense of confidence.
“I’m not quite ready for dating yet,” she writes, “but I’m enjoying my life and my boost of confidence. Who knows what’s going to happen — I can’t wait.”
She concluded her recent email with: “Thank you so very much for your warm and tremendously valuable consultation — and your fantastic crowns.”
Ah, stories like this remind me why I love what I do — because every crown holds the power to help a woman remember who she is.
